Scouting Report

Rashad is a very intriguing recruit as he could see playing time at defensive end and tight end when he winds up in college. He’s got the ideal size to play both positions at the college level and could be utilized at either position as the coaching staff like him equally at both. Personally, I feel as Rashad could make more of a difference on the defensive side of the ball.

As a defensive end, Rashad shows a solid burst off the line of scrimmage and an ability to get into the backfield and cause pressure on the quarterback. He does an excellent job of using his long arms to deflect passes and also shows solid strength to get around the offensive line. He sheds blocks with relative ease and does a good job of using his upper body strength to gain leverage on the offensive line. The more I watch his film, the more I like Rashad as a rush 3-4 defensive end. He shows a solid knack for getting to the football and with his speed he could be utilized very effectively on blitzes. Does an excellent job of extending his arms and keeping his feet moving while being engaged with the offensive line. A little raw in terms of technique, but Rashad shows a lot of athleticism in his highlight film and with proper teaching at the college level, Rashad should be able to turn into a solid college player.
