Michigan’s 2015 recruiting class just got a little bigger
via the commitment of Wide Receiver Grant Perry.Perry is a recruit I've been high on for quite some time now, and with Michigan offering him yesterday, a commitment seemed inevitable. Grant becomes the third Brother Rice commit in 2015 for Michigan, joining QB Alex Malzone, and preferred walk-on Jack Dunaway.

Scouting Report:
Grant is a very underrated receiver in my mind. Listed as a
3* recruit by all major recruiting databases, Grant doesn’t play like his
rating would suggest. Does almost
everything well. Good burst of speed off the line of scrimmage and decent top
end speed. Won’t exactly “wow” you with his top end speed, but does possess
enough speed to be a good receiver at the next level. Excellent ball skills,
and when Grant has the ball in space, gains tons of extra yardage after the
catch. Very good route runner, and could be extremely effective as a slot back.
Extremely agile. Isn’t easily brought down by tacklers, and can beat his man
with a variety of moves. Skillset very similar to former Wolverine Jeremy
Gallon. Will bring instant chemistry
with Alex Malzone, as they both played together at Brother Rice. Always has a knack for finding open space on
the field. Grant’s a little undersized at 6’0 (may be a little exaggerated),
but has a good frame at 185 lbs. Ball
security seems to have been an issue in the past, as he had seven fumbles
during his high school career.
Highlight Video:
Perry had an extremely productive high school career with Brother Rice, winning 3 straight state championships, and racked up over 2,700 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns.
Grant becomes the 10th commitment in Michigan’s
2015 recruiting class joining; OL Nolan Ulizio, DE Reuben Jones, QB Zach
Gentry, ATH Brian Cole, OL Grant Newsome, QB Alex Malzone, DB Tyree Kinnel, K Andrew David, and OL Jon
Runyan Jr.
Michigan will head into National Signing Day with 5-7 spots
available in their 2015 recruiting class.
