Rankings are determined before each week's games.
|
1. Michigan State
By simply not playing, they looked the best of every team in the league last week. B1G!
2. Wisconsin
Also didn't play…so didn't lose!
3. Nebraska
Dispatched a pretty awful Fresno State team by a wide margin. Will host Miami (yes that Miami) this week in what will certainly be a entertaining game until the Big Ten gets embarrassed yet again by a power 5 conference foe.
4. Ohio State
Beat Kent State by a million points. Still unsure just how good or bad this team is but 4th place feels about right. Off this week.
5. Penn State
Got to hand it to the Nittany Lions, they hung around just long enough last week to eventually take down Rutgers. Penn State didn't look particularly great (neither did Rutgers) but a win on the road at night is worth something. Penn State is 3-0, the only team in the B1G East left undefeated.
6. Michigan
Rebounded from the ND loss with a comfortable but not too comfortable win against Miami (not that Miami). Much tougher opponent this week as Utah comes calling.
7. Minnesota
Figured they would probably lose @ TCU, but the 30-7 final score was a little more than I thought it would be.
8. Maryland
Lost to WVU by 3 points on a last second field goal. They could be a top 4 team in the league, we just don't really know yet. They travel to Syracuse this weekend, which could be a good test.
9. Rutgers
Had Indiana scored 4 more points to beat Bowling Green last week, they'd be sitting in this spot. But Indiana is going to Indiana, and we're certainly not going to put Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois or Purdue in this spot.
