Michigan has added a vital piece to the puzzle this
afternoon via a commitment from 2015 Defensive End Darian Roseboro. Roseboro,
who committed to the Wolverines in front of family and friends at his high
school gym, becomes the first true pass rusher in Michigan’s 2015 recruiting
class.

Darian is a force on the defensive line. He consistently gets through the offensive
line and causes disruption in the backfield.
Although he doesn’t have “take your breath away” speed for a lineman, he
does have a good enough burst to get past his blockers. He does an excellent
job using his upper body to gain leverage on his blocker, making it easier for
him to shed blocks. Weighing in at 285,
Roseboro looks the part of a college defensive lineman already. If Darian is to
gain more weight, he may be better suited to play on the interior of the
defensive line.
Watching the Vine video’s that ESPN’s Gerry Hamilton has
posted on his Twitter account,
it’s easy to see that Darian is true beast on the field. Even in practice,
Roseboro easily gets around his blocks and does an excellent job of wrapping up
his tackles and bringing the offensive player to the ground.

Although Darian is listed as a defensive tackle on most
recruiting websites, Michigan has been recruiting him as a defensive end. The
Lincolnton product is a very intriguing prospect. During his high school career, Darian has
seen playing time at defensive end, defensive tackle, and even running back.
Although it’s unlikely he will see playing time at running back in college, it
goes to show how versatile this young man is. Even though Darian is a highly touted DE/DT,
he is a very raw prospect. Seeing playing time at multiple positions throughout
his high school career, Darian doesn’t necessarily use the proper techniques
that defensive lineman should use. Being
6’4 and 285 pounds, Darian is able to get past his blockers using his raw
power. I fully expect him to gain more technique throughout his senior season
when he will be used as a full-time defensive end.
Darian’s senior season of high school football got underway
last Friday against North Lincoln. Darian recorded 21 tackles (4 TFL) and a
sack in the loss.
Hype Video:
Darian becomes the 11th prospect in Michigan’s
2015 recruiting class joining; Tyree Kinnel, Alex Malzone, Darrin Kirkland Jr,
Brian Cole, Jon Runyan Jr., Mike Weber, Chris Clark, Andrew David, Grant Newsome,
and Garrett Taylor.
