The Future Huddle- Josh McMillon Leaks Schools, Shea Patterson Throws, Offers and Notes

Which 2016 QB threw for the Coaching Staff last week? Which 2015 LB Targets released some of their top schools. Who was it? Which 2016 prospects were offered this week?  Find out in this Fridays Version of “The Future Huddle.”

2015 LB Josh McMilllon announced three of his top schools last Friday via twitter.
Joshua is ranked as a 4 star prospect on Rivals and ranked as the #213th overall prospect and #15 outside linebacker. McMillon plans to announce his college decision later this summer. Alabama and Auburn were the other two schools McMillon leaked out. Michigan needs take an outside Linebacker (to go along with current commit Darrin Kirkland Jr.) and the position should come down to Asmar Bilal, Justin Hilliard, Osa Masina, Tyriq Thompson, or Joshua.  Speaking with 24/7’s Charles Power, Joshua had this to say about his thoughts on Michigan

"Well, Michigan has a lot of great aspects. Coach Greg Mattison is an ex-coach with the Baltimore Ravens. He came down to see me. He stays in touch with me ever since I came up there for the visit. Chris Singletary talks to me all the time on Twitter. It's just great conversing with him. We have a great time talking and he checks on family. It's a real good place up there."

2016 QB Shea Patterson threw for the Michigan coaching staff last week. Patterson is ranked as the #2 Pro Style Quarterback for the class of 2016 and, #57 overall according to 24/7. Although Shea is currently committed to the University of Arizona, he boasts an extremely impressive offer list including; Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. Just the thought of stealing a prospect away from RichRod puts a smile on my face. Shea threw for 2,655 yards with 34 touchdowns and 4 interceptions as a sophomore for his Calvary Baptist Academy high school team.  Shea recently spoke with Steve Lorenz about his plans with Michigan

"I grew up in Ohio, and the three schools you always want offers from when you grow up in that area are Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame," he said. "I've always liked Michigan. I had a great time when I was there last year. To play in the Big House would be an awesome experience and I really like what they have to offer. I'm looking to come back up again this season for a game. If they offer, I am considering coming up sometime this summer as well."

The Newly Offered:

2016 ATH Ahmir Mitchell was offered a scholarship by the coaching staff on Thursday.

    Height: 6’2
                Weight: 197
Current High School: Cedar Creek (Egg Harbor City, New Jersey)
                Position: ATH
                24/7 Rating: NR
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: 4 Stars
Other Offers:  Florida State, Virginia, Rutgers, Boston College

Mitchell is a tall athlete with good speed. Ahmir has a quick burst off the line and, uses his excellent field vision to follow blocks to turn a ten yard gain in to a thirty yard gain. Although Ahmir more than likely isn’t going to burn defenders with his speed, he is extremely hard to tackle as you can see by his highlight film below.  As a sophomore, Mitchell saw playing time at running back, wide receiver, and as a defensive back. Mitchell has all the makings to be a very talented/electrifying FBS player, no matter what position he ends up at.

2016 WR A.D Miller was also offered earlier this week.

    Height: 6’4
                Weight: 175
Current High School: Bishop Dunne (Dallas, Texas)
                Position: Wide Receiver
                24/7 Rating: 3 Stars, #114 WR
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: 3 Stars
Other Offers:  Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona State

Adrian (A.D) Miller is a very lanky wide receiver with great deep threat potential.  One of the first things I noticed about A.D was how smooth his route running abilities are. His speed plays such a big part of his game that defensive backs are too focused on not letting him burn by them resulting in him breaking off his man and getting open in the middle of the field. Adding weight will most definitely be a priority once Miller reaches college, but that’s not for another two years. Miami seems to be the early front runner for his services but, with a visit that could all change. A.D spoke with Steve Lorenz about his college options saying;

"I want to visit Michigan, Ohio State, Miami and Cal," he said. "To be honest, I am looking to leave the state of Texas for college, so I am open to anywhere around the country. I am hoping to make a decision sometime later this summer after I've seen some schools. If I don't have a decision in before school starts, I will decide after my football season is over."

As a sophomore, Miller caught 34 passes for 482 yards and 10 touchdowns. Adrian’s highlight film can be viewed below.

On Monday, 2016 DE Kyree Campbell received his scholarship offer from Coach Roy Manning.

    Height: 6’3
                Weight: 268
Current High School: Freedom (Woodbridge, Virginia)
                Position: Strongside Defensive End
                24/7 Rating: 4 Stars, #116 Overall, #7 SDE
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: 4 Stars
Other Offers:  Ohio State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Virginia

Kyree is a sensational high school prospect. He’s extremely quick off the edge and, uses his hands properly to break past the offensive line. If Campbell dosen’t get into the backfield quick enough,he can run you down as he is very fast for a defensive lineman. Michigan has had very good luck in the past recruiting in Virginia, (Wilton Speight, Derrick Green, and Current Commit Garret Taylor) and this could come in handy if Kyree decides to visit at some point. Having someone from your “neck of the woods” is always nice when visiting a place you're unfamiliar with. Although it’s very early in the recruiting process, Ohio State looks like it could be the front runners for him. As a sophomore, Kyree saw playing time as a Tight End as well.

2016 Offensive Lineman Michal Menet was offered a scholarship on Thursday.

    Height: 6’5
                Weight: 250
Current High School: Exeter Township Senior High School (Reading, Pennsylvania)
                Position: Offensive Tackle
                24/7 Rating: #44 Overall, #9 OT
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: 4 Stars
Other Offers: Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Florida State

Michal Menet is a dual threat lineman. As a sophomore in high school, Michal played defensive end and guard. As a defensive end, Menet registered 74 tackles, 11.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Although Michal can do it all on both sides of the ball, his future lies on the offensive line. Menet isn’t quick enough of the edge to become a force at the college level like he was in high school. As a guard, Menet is straight up nasty. He possesses a massive upper body, giving him leverage to bowl defenders over on the rush. Although he isn’t the fastest lineman I’ve ever seen, he can get up field in decent speed to set up blocks.

Binjimen Victor received his offer from the coaching staff on Thursday.

    Height: 6’3
                Weight: 165
Current High School: Coconut Creek (Coconut Creek, Florida)
                Position: Wide Reciever
                24/7 Rating: NR
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: NR
Other Offers:  Clemson, South Florida, Wisconsin, Miami, Ohio Sate

Victor is another wide receiver with great route running abilities. Although he stands at 6’3, Binjimen does not have the vertical leap you would like to see out of a receiver his size. However, Binjimen does come down with mostly every ball that hits his hands. In his highlight film below, there are numerous times that Victor comes down with the ball in double coverage, making you think how the heck did he get that? Binjimen does a good job of getting open but, most of the time his lack of speed ends up in him getting tackled. Like most high school receivers, Binjamen will have to add muscle weight to his lanky frame. Victor spoke with Bob Morrison from 24/7 sports earlier this month and told him that he has no plans on committing any time soon.

While the coaching staff was visiting Coconut Creek, they also extended an offer to Malek Young.

    Height: 5’9
                Weight: 171
Current High School: Coconut Creek (Coconut Creek, Florida)
                Position: Cornerback
                24/7 Rating: NR
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: NR
Other Offers: Clemson, Louisville, Miami, West Virginia, Cincinnati

If Malek is to play Corner at the college level, he would best be suited as a Nickelback.  Out of all the offers that have been handed out over the past couple weeks, this one struck me as a little “random.” Don’t get me wrong Malek is a good football player but, he doesn’t seem like all the other Michigan DB targets. Malek is a little undersized compared to current commit Garrett Taylor. He does have good top speed and can make defenders miss while playing offense. A lot of Malek’s game reminds me of current Wolverines Dennis Norfleet.  Malek had 33 catches for 403 yards and 4 touchdowns as a sophomore.  He also had 148 and 1 touchdown rushing the ball. On the defensive side of the ball, Malek had 13 tackles.

Jake Haussman was offered a scholarship late last week.

    Height: 6’4
                Weight: 228
Current High School: Moeller High School (Cincinnati, Ohio)
                Position: Tight End
                24/7 Rating:  #183 Overall, #6 TE
                ESPN Rating: NR
                Rivals Rating: NR
                Scout Rating: 4 Stars
Other Offers:  Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State

Jake is your prototypical Tight End. He can line-up beside the offensive linemen to help with the blocking game or, can line-up on the outside and get open for the catch.  He has the body size to step into college right away and make an impact. He has excellent hands for a guy his size and most times when he goes over the middle, Jake doesn't shy away from contact and comes down with the ball.  Wherever Jakes ends up, he’s going to be a constant red zone scoring threat. Hausmann had 22 catches for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns as a sophomore. Jake is currently being recruited by Coaches Mark Smith and, Dan Ferrigno.

Other Notes:

Friday morning, 5 Star LB Justin Hilliard released his top 5 schools. Shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Michigan made the cut. Michigan should be in the running down to the wire.
Coach Hecklinski visited 2015 5 star WR Damarkus Lodge on Tuesday. Damarkus is rated as the #42 overall and #3 WR for the class of 2015. He holds offers from basically every major program across the nation.

2015 RB Damien Harris was visited by Michigan, Oregon, and Ohio State on Thursday.

2015 TE Chris Clark announced via twitter that he will be visiting Michigan on June 18th. Clark recently named Michigan his slight leader and having him come for a visit in June surely can only be viewed as a positive. Chris will then make the 65 mile drive to East Lansing to check out the Spartans the following day.
2015 QB commit Alex Malzone gained his 4th star from Rivals this week. When Alex committed last week, he said that he was going to be start recruiting fellow prospects to Michigan. Well, Alex has wasted no time.
2015 WR Target Miles Boykin announced that he will be announcing his Top 10 on May 26th.

Lastly,
2015 LB Target Tyriq Thompson tweeted this out Wednesday.  Think these are getting out of hand?
