MGoHello
Finally!! Today marks a day that most of us analysts (and even fans probably) saw coming for some time now. Here's how Ways broke the news via twitter following his visit to AA:
"IM A MICHIGAN MAN! JUST COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN!! I'm sooo blessed and I'm thankful…"Ways was offered a week ago today and once the offer was out, Michigan immediately became the favorite. Ways reiterated that while talking to 247Sports Steve Lorenz after the offer was extended:
"My parents and I are going to talk. I don't know when right now," he said. "We're going to see what to do, what's the best fit for me and the best fit for them. I don't want to rush things though and panic right now. It's not a secret at all how I feel about Michigan. I just want to enjoy the moment right now."I'm questioning the mentioning of not rushing things (committing a week later), but seriously...who's upset about him not waiting. Not this guy!
Ways is an interesting prospect to analyze. Being mainly a two sport athlete, he's only been playing football competitively for a few years now, but looking at his size at 6'3" or 6'4"(Scout & 247), this kid has a high ceiling. The number one thing that stood out to me was the weight he was able to gain in the off season, jumping from 175 to 195 (Scout & Rivals). Scout's Allen Trieu has more to add about the type of player Ways is:
"Kid with a great frame and height. Has filled out his body, but needs to continue to do that and add strength. Shows good ball skills and uses his natural athleticism to track down the ball and can go up and get it in traffic. No timed speed on him, but shows ability to get downfield on film and also makes some things happen after the catch. Relatively inexperienced, so needs to continue to work on route running and technique."Just by looking at pictures of Ways, he still looks lanky, long, lean, and tall, so who knows how much weight he could actually put on his big frame Trieu speaks of. But assuming a redshirt is in store, he will have plenty of time to gain more muscle. Because of this, he is definitely a bit of a project and that's reflected in his offer list (below). Don't be surprised to see his ranking make a jump once he gets on the field for his senior season. 247's Barton Simmons mentioned Ways last spring as a player's name to remember:
"We’re hear to tell you that you need to know the name Ways too if you don’t already. The 6-4, 195-pound big body caught 51 passes for 957 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior and to date... With the way he moves on film, the ball skills he shows and the big play ability he threatens, Ways could see his offer list triple over the next month."The potential is there folks!
Other Offers
Ways top offers (excluding Michigan obviously) are Iowa, Kansas, and Rutgers. He had 10 offers total with all the other coming from mid-major schools.

Something Scary to Think About
By the time Ways is a sophomore (which I believe is his best chance at finally seeing the field) he could be lined up next to a wide range of very tall WR's: Darboh, Chesson, Dukes, Jones, York, Harris, (possibly) Scott, and (possibly) Willams. Every one of those commits is 6'2" or taller and will be a matchup nightmare for anyone Michigan faces. I bet QB's Wilton Speight and Shane Morris are salivating at the chance to throw to these big guys. Morris was actually busy coming up with a headline for Ways commitment, saying just that:
Wow! So many Moe Ways for us QB's to throw the ball now! 😉 #PunnyHell, even my cousin decided to join in on the fun:

@dwinslow09 I wonder if the offensive coordinator can find Moe Ways to get him involvedOk, I'll stop there. Your welcome!
