The Michigan Wolverines '13 recruiting class has taken a hit. Detroit Cass Tech (MI) OL David Dawson de-commited earlier today confirmed by Sam Web:
Hearing that #Michigan has parted ways with Detroit Cass TechDavid Dawson. Digging on it now. Stay tuned for more detailsTo say I'm shocked is kind of true...but I can't say that I didn't see this coming from the consensus 4-star and #1 rated OG (ESPN) in the '13 class. Dawson was joined by 4 other very talented OL commits (Kugler, Bosch, Tully-Tillman, Fox), so where there could've been someone lost at a more crucial position lacking talent, Dawson is still a big loss.

There was some foreshadowing to look back on here. We all remember when Dawson was bombarded by reporters at Nike's The Opening about a possible visit to Florida (which he will now take per Steve Wiltfong) a while back, which was ridiculous, if I can say so myself . He eventually put all the rumors to rest after discussing it with the coaches and it was history, or so I thought. So to say there was no indication that this may happen would be false, but it seemed to be water under the bridge.
But even after all this, best of luck to this kid where ever he ends up in the future and I wish him nothing but the best. He is a classy kid and Dawson had this to say to all of us associated with the Michigan program:
Would like to wish the university of Michigan the best of luck ..nothing against anybody associated with that programAnd to the fans:
