Quick before the update, someone help our friend (and fellow blogger) Brad in finding a cure for his uncontrollable disease before he goes all Direct TV on us (please tell me you know the commercials I'm talking about, "Don't wake up in a roadside ditch.")
Would someone like to subsidize my blogging habit? This real life work stuff is really starting to get in the way.Tweet him some solutions (quick!) at @MaizeBlueNation with hash tag #bloggerproblems.#bloggerproblems

Now on to the good stuff:
2013 News

UM commit DB Channing Stribling was in action this weekend for the kick off of the Butler High School (NC) football season. They faced
off against tough, in-state foe Mallard Creek in the NC Game of the Week. And the above picture takes place on the first play of the game:On top of this he also showed off his offensive skills:#Michigan DB commit Channing Stribling with a big start- 1 int and 1 crushing tackle

Stribling had an exceptional start to the season as you can see. His campaign to prove all the doubters wrong has begun some very impressive evidence with this performance. I'll end with this:#Michigan commit Channing Stribling with a sweet tight-rope catch on the sideline. Great game for him

I saw 3 practices & 2 games this week & a prospect that stood out to me as much as anyone was#Michigan commit Channing Stribling. Stock Up!

Fellow DB commit Gareon Conley's team took part in a scrimmage against in-state South. Conley was definitely a star on the field and John Kampf of The News Herald raved about the youngster:
"Conley was a thorn in South's side all night, hauling in a long touchdown pass on the second play of the scrimmage and then a brilliant one-hander in the second quarter."
RB Derrick Green took a visit to Auburn over the weekend and based on a few tweets, he enjoyed the visit. Auburn is who most analysts say is the team that could get in the way of Hoke and staff (and current '13 commits for that matter) pulling in this talented back. He also visited Georgia this week although they didn't make his final 6.
2014 News
247 Sports released its very early (and a little crazy) top 247 for the 2014 class and Michigan has many players already holding offers or having serious interest including newest commit LB Michael Ferns. MGoBlog provided a great breakdown of where everyone stands.
OH OL Jimmy Byrne put Michigan in his top 3 according to Rivals Brad Bournival. Byrne is considered a 3-star prospect (247), but looking at his offer sheet, he will definitely reach 4-star status by the time he exits his senior year and a possible top 10 ranking in the state of Ohio.
Offers
'14 DE Connor Sheehy was extended an offer a couple weeks after attending the Big House BBQ in July (yes another one slipped past me; *sigh*). But anyways Scout.com's Allen Trieu spoke to Sheehy's coach and who gives us a little breakdown of his game along with a decision timeline:
"He has handled it about as best I've seen in my experience," Coach Maz said. "He is such a grounded kid. He's a smart kid, a great student, a great guy to have in the building. He is a terrific kid, so when the attention came to him, he handled it in stride. He has a lot of class, and is mature beyond his years."
"What also makes him successful is, he has a heck of a motor. There's an urgency in the way he plays. He's sudden. He's determined when he's on the field. He's hard to block. You may block him, but he'll never stay blocked."
"He hasn't said when. He hasn't laid out a timetable as to when he's going to make decision..."This four star prospect (in the end) has two B1G offers (Wisc. and UM) early in the process. This is a good sign of the type of talent this kid already possesses and sounds like a promising prospect who understand how to play the game; Something this Michigan coaching staff has been looking for in most prospects. This video provides evidence of the above quote:
'14 PA LB Brenon Thrift received an offer from the Wolverines last week. This 3-star (247) prospect also has offers from West Virginia and Pitt so far. Looks like a prime candidate to be a sleeper in '14 with his impressive 6'3" 230 lb. frame.
Sayonara Suckas (Sort Of)
FL WR Alvin Bailey will not be attending the University of Michigan (as of this week). He released a top 5 via twitter which included UCF, Florida, Notre Dame, FSU, and Georgia. Bailey didn't disclose whether those were in any certain order; my guess...UCF has been his leader for a while now and Florida is def. in the picture after extending an offer and getting an unofficial visit, so chances are they just may be in order.
*Don't forget, the updated Rivals Top 150 for the '13 class comes out tomorrow. I've heard there's been some MAJOR changes including some high risers and major fallers. Michigan will have a good amount of commits and their top two remaining targets will definitely be included, in RB Derrick Green and possible new 5-star receiver LaQuon Treadwell.
