They are Louisiana WR Rueben Randle. He is the nations 5th-ranked WR in the 09 senior class and is a teammate of Michigan DT commit DeQuinta Jones. The other is Wheaton, Maryland linebacker Jelani Jenkins, who is the #9 overall recruit in the country.
Defensive coordinator Scott Shafer spent part of his bye-week attending a HS game in Maryland to see the 6-foot-1, 212-pound linebacker in action. And it sounds like Shafer got his attention.
“A lot of things stand out,” Jenkins said. “They have a great tradition and obviously a good football team. They have a new coach that has a lot of prestige.”It sounds like Michigan has at least a decent shot at both prospects. At least with Randle, he has a current tie to Michigan with his teammate already committed. That could turn out to be a determining factor in where he goes.
“I want to see what it is like up there,” Randle told TigerBait.com, a site that covers LSU football. “That is pretty much the only one that I have set right now. I don't know the date yet, but I would like to make a trip up to Ann Arbor."Like I said, whenever you have two 5-star recruits on your sideline for a marquee match up on network TV, that's a great sign.
Adding to the list of commitments, is DE Craig Roh. The 6-5, 230 pound 4-star hails from Scottsdale, AZ. He is the 3rd DE to commit to Michigan in this class.
Also mentioned in the first article above, it seems that Michigan has a pretty good shot at re-landing Detroit Cass Tech DT William Campbell. He de-committed earlier in September because he felt he wanted to re-evaluate his options in order to make a more informed decision. But he definitely did not rule out Michigan in any way.
